Old Cassidy Napaldjardi is the senior custodian of Ngarlu, the striking rock outcrop situated on Mount Allan Station, where a number of Dreaming stories intersect.

Among these stories are those of the honey-ant dreaming, the bush fuchsia, caterpillar dreaming, and the Ngarlu love story, about a man who sang a love song, and attracted a woman of the wrong 'skin' grouping, a forbidden relationship.

This work shows the bush fuchsia, in a ceremonial fashion as depicted in body painting, at various stages of growth. The centre circle is the rugged outcrop of Ngarlu.
