This painting depicts a popular type of 'bush tucker' a black plum found in Maureen's country in the Yuendumu and Mount Allan regions.

As with all of the paintings from the Western Desert region, the painting works on different levels, combining an aerial view of ancestral travels, during which the country and the foods were created, with a literal depiction of the food.

The lines represent the travels, the dark regions the bushes and country formed during these travels, and the plums are shown scattered on the ground as they are collected.
