The water dreaming site of Mikanji, a small waterhole west of Yuendumu is shown in Maureen's work, a place where many Water Dreamings came together.

This caused a great storm. After it had passed, green shoots and wild fruits began to grow which attracted the Emu Dreaming travelling from the east.

Maureen's painting shows Mikanji at the centre, with the run-off forming pools in the surrounding landscape. Maureen paints both fire and water dreamings.
