Maureen's painting shows a typical day in the life of the women, who wander their country, collecting bush tucker as they go. Every now and then they stop to rest, gather in small groups, and share the food as they talk of the hunt.
The circles are the gathering points, although they also represent physical aspects of the landscape, formed when the mythical ancestral women also gathered food, but forming the landscape as they went.
