This is a version of the Warlukurlongu fire dreaming story west of Yuendumu, which is Maureen's father's country. When the blue tongue lizard man sent the flames after his errant sons with his flicking tongue, they fled south into the Pitjanjatjara lands before turning for home, where the flames finally devoured them. Maureen has shown the enormous extent of this fire, and the blackened country it left behind, which extended over hundreds of kilometres.
